There was a man who had a parrot that swore all the time.

The man continuously scolded the parrot for swearing, but it did no good.

One day the man told the parrot that if he swore just once more that he would put him in the freezer.

Sure enough, the parrot swore again, and true to his word  the man put the bird in the freezer.

At first he could hear the bird swearing up a storm, then it got really quiet.  Fearing the bird might actually be hurt, the man opened the freezer, and the parrot calmly and quietly stepped onto his finger.

To the man's amazement, the parrot apologized for his swearing and his bad behavior and promised to be better.  Then he asked quietly,   "Pardon me for asking, but what did the chicken do?"
